How to identify hardware door lock materials?

1. Zinc alloy

If the door lock is made of zinc alloy material, its hardness and rust resistance are poor, and even thick electroplating can easily fade, darken, rot, and bubble. However, its advantage is that it is easy to make complex patterned parts, especially pressure casting. The more complex patterns of locks seen on the market are likely made of zinc alloy, and consumers should carefully identify them.

2. Steel

Steel has good strength and low cost, but is prone to rusting. It is generally used as an internal structural material for locks and is not suitable for external decoration.

3. Aluminum or aluminum alloy

Aluminum or aluminum alloy, ordinary aluminum alloy (excluding aerospace) is soft and lightweight, with lower material strength, but easy to process and shape.

4. Copper material

5. Stainless steel

From a durable perspective, the best material should be stainless steel, especially when used as a surface material, the more it is used, the brighter it becomes. It has good strength, strong corrosion resistance, and unchanged color. But there are also various types of stainless steel, mainly divided into ferrite and austenite. Ferritic stainless steel has magnetism, commonly known as stainless steel. Over time and in poor environments, it can also rust. Currently, only 304 stainless steel is the best stainless steel material.
