1.Why Strong Window Locks Are Essential for Modern Homes

In today’s world, home security goes far beyond doors—it starts with every opening, especially windows. High-quality window locks are a critical first line of defense against intrusions, accidental openings, and even harsh weather conditions. Unlike basic latches that offer minimal resistance, advanced window locks provide reinforced locking points, tamper-resistant mechanisms, and child-safe operation. They not only deter break-ins but also ensure windows stay tightly sealed, improving energy efficiency by reducing drafts and heat loss. For families with young children or pets, secure window locks prevent dangerous falls while still allowing controlled ventilation. Whether you live in an urban apartment or a suburban house, investing in robust window locking systems significantly enhances safety, comfort, and peace of mind.

2. Why is the length of the spindle important?

For the square handle, the length of the spindle (measured from the base of the handle) must match:

Too short: It's too short to reach the transmission device inside the window frame and the door cannot be locked.

Too long: The handle cannot be placed flat against the window frame.

Standard size: Commonly available sizes are 30mm, 35mm, and 40mm. If you buy a longer one, you can usually shorten it yourself with a hacksaw.

3. How to solve "handle spinning" or "can't lock"?

Reason A: The internal square spindle has broken or worn out and become round.

Reason B: The gearbox inside the window frame is broken, causing the handle to rotate but the lock point not moving.

Judgment method: Remove the handle and use a pair of pliers to rotate the hole inside the window frame. If the window can be locked, it means the handle is broken; if it still doesn't respond, then the gearbox inside the window is broken.

4. What is "key locking" (Key Locking)?

This is a concern for many high-rise residents or families with children:

Security: Preventing burglars from opening the window by breaking the glass and turning the handle.

Child safety: Locking with a key prevents children from opening the window on their own, providing a fall prevention function.

5. Why does my handle feel very "heavy" or won't turn?

Reason: It's not that the handle is broken. Usually, the window sash is sagging, causing the lock point and the lock seat to not align properly, resulting in a huge friction force.

Suggestion: Do not forcefully pry the handle (it is easy to break it). First, adjust the window hinges to make the window sash return to its original position.
