1. Prepare the Door and Spindle
Ensure your latch or lock mechanism is already installed in the door.
Insert the spindle (the square metal bar) through the latch. Ensure it protrudes equally on both sides.
Tip: If the spindle is too long for your door thickness, you may need to cut it down slightly with a hacksaw.
2. Align the Handles
Remove the outer square rose covers from the handles to reveal the inner mounting plates.
Slide the handles onto the spindle on both sides of the door.
Hold them firmly and use a level (or measure from the floor) to ensure they are perfectly straight.
3. Mark and Drill Fixing Holes
With the handles in place, use a pencil to mark the screw holes through the mounting plate.
For Wood Screws: Drill small 2mm pilot holes.
For Bolt-Through Fixings: (Recommended for extra stability) Drill 5mm holes all the way through the door.
4. Secure the Mounting Plates
Secure the inner plates to the door using the provided screws or "male-female" bolts.
Tighten evenly on both sides to avoid tilting the handle.
5. Attach the Rose Covers and Lever
Slide the square rose covers over the levers and snap or screw them onto the mounting plates.
Most square designs feature a small grub screw at the bottom of the rose; tighten this with your Allen key to lock the cover in place.
Finally, tighten the grub screw located on the underside of the lever handle itself to secure it to the spindle.
6. Install the Escutcheon (Keyhole Cover)
Repeat the alignment and drilling process for the matching square escutcheon over your keyhole or cylinder.
