How to put a door closer？

Door closers, also known as door closing devices, are devices used to automatically close doors. They ensure that doors return to the closed position after being opened, enhancing safety and extending the door's lifespan. Below are detailed installation steps and precautions:

Preparations

Before starting the installation, prepare some basic tools and materials such as screwdrivers, screws, drill bits, and rulers. Additionally, select the appropriate door closer model based on the door's size and weight.

Installation Steps

1. Install the door frame latch

Install the door frame latch on the door frame. This is used to keep the door closed and prevent it from opening automatically. 
Install the door body latch at the top of the door. Usually, drilling is required for installation. After installation, align the door body latch with the door frame latch.

2. Install the top hinge

Install the top hinge at the bottom of the door. Before installation, measure the required length of the door and tighten the screws securely.

3. Install the floor brake

Install the floor brake on the ground as per the instructions. It keeps the door in a stable position. Adjust the floor brake during use to avoid over or under operation.

4. Install the door closer

Install the door closer between the door body latch and the bottom top hinge. Align it accurately and tighten the screws. The installation steps for the door closer may vary depending on the door's material and type. It is recommended to read the door closer's installation manual carefully before installation or seek professional assistance. 

Notes to be Observed

When installing a door closer, the installation position should be determined based on the door opening direction, the size of the closing force, and the installation dimensions between the door closer body, the connecting seat and the door hinge. After installation, check whether all the fixing screws are tightened and there should be no loose or insecure phenomena. Open the door to the maximum opening position and check whether the hinged arm of the door closer collides or rubs against the door or the door frame. Normal door closers are set to the normal state when leaving the factory. Adjust the speed control valve and the closing force as required until you are satisfied. The speed control valve should not be higher than the main body surface of the door closer; otherwise, it may fall off under pressure, causing hydraulic oil to spray out and the door closer to be unusable. After the door closer is installed, it is recommended to re-tighten all screws after 7 to 10 days. It is best to have a professional installer do the job.
