Steps to replace a door handle:

Step 1: Preparation and Planning

Ensure you have all the necessary tools and read any instructions provided by the door handle manufacturer before you start. If there's anything unclear, you can look up disassembly guides specific to your model online. But if you want to remove smart door handle ,make sure to disconnect the power first to avoid any risk of electric shock.

Step 2: Remove the Decorative Cover

Some door handles come with a decorative front cover that needs to be removed to access the screws underneath. Typically, this cover can be removed by gently prying it off. Use a long flat-head screwdriver or plastic card, carefully insert it around the edge and gently lift upwards without damaging the surface.

 

Step 3: Locate and Loosen the Fixing Screws

Find the screws on the back of the door handle. These screws might be hidden under the decorative cover or exposed. Use an appropriate screwdriver to loosen them by turning counterclockwise. In some cases, the screws may be very tight; at this point, lubricant can be used to help loosen them.

 

Step 4: Separate the Inside and Outside Handles

Once the screws are removed, try gently pulling the inner and outer handles in opposite directions to detach them from the lock core. For certain designs, you may need to slightly twist or align specific markings to separate them smoothly.

 

Step 5: Remove the Lock Cylinder and Connecting Rod
